About Me
Horses are my passion. I have been riding for 47 years, since 1975. I started off in Pony Club, and went on to ride and show Appaloosa's and then many different types of horses riding in various Hunter/ Jumper Divisions . A champion rider through the decades, I have shown in show jumping up to 1.45m at major "A" shows, and I have ridden over the years with several top barns and professionals, most who have been on the United States Equestrian Team. I still compete in show jumping (but at a lower level). A few years ago, I also started training and showing in lower level Dressage. Over my 47 years, I have learned many life lessons through riding, horsemanship, and being a part of the equestrian community. For me, I learned that through hard work, discipline and dedication I could achieve something on my own, with my horse, as a partner.
I have a unique skill set. I am an equestrian, I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in four states. I also have a Master's Degree in Business Administration. I have been a licensed Clinical Therapist for more than 20 years working as an Administrator, Executive Director and I have a successful private practice currently.
I have also at times in my career, taken a break from mental health and in the early 2000's, I was the General Manager of an equestrian business with over 75 horses and 500 clients. I have both the knowledge and tools, plus the business skills and equestrian experience to help you, or your barn, improve your performance no matter what level you are at. I will not be doing therapy with you, this is strictly performance coaching and helping you with mental skills development, personal achievement goal setting and improving your performance.
